Abu Huraira said that the Prophet (PBUH) had said, “The best believer in terms of faith is the one with the best manners.” I’ve never met a Muslim who didn’t want to be a better person. The religion of Islam teaches good behavior and manners, and you and I have learned that Allah (SWT) values good behavior very highly. If how we act is so important to how Allah (SWT) sees us, then it goes without saying that we should spend every day of our lives trying to improve our character. It’s okay that we’re human and makes mistakes, but if we do some things every day, we can get closer to the person with the best manners. Here are some things we Muslims can do to improve how we act, which are discussed by the online Quran tutor in terms of online Quran teaching in the USA.

Live by what the Quran says.

When asked about the Prophet’s (SAW) manners, Aisha (RA) said that the Qur’an was his manners. This means that he followed the rules in the Qur’an in how he lived and what he did. As a Muslim, the messenger of Allah (SWT) is your role model. Just as his behavior was a direct interpretation of the Qur’an, so should ours be.

If Allah (SWT) tells us not to do something in the Qur’an, it is respectful and proper to stay away from it. We do it whenever He (SWT) tells us to do something good. Adopting the manners mentioned in the Qur’an is one way to improve our behavior. For example, if you want to be from the saabireen, you must practice patience. If you want to be from the mu’taqun, you must fear Allah (SWT).

Kindly treat all things.

“Allah has prescribed Ihsan (kindness) for everything,” said the Prophet of Allah (PBUH). So, when you kill, you should do it in the best way possible, and when you slaughter, you should do it in the best way possible. Let one of you sharpen his knife and make his animal comfortable (to make it feel less pain).”

No one likes someone who mistreats them, talks badly to them, or picks on them. If the Prophet of Allah (PBUH) can tell us to be kind to animals, how should we treat people and other things?

Be nice to everyone, no matter who they are or how close they are to you. People hurting others just because they think they can is a common theme on the internet. Be the kind of Muslim who helps a stranger and speaks up for others. Don’t be the kind of person everyone tries to avoid because they might get hurt by you.

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “On the Day of Resurrection, I will love and be closest to those who have the best manners, and I will hate and be farthest away from those who are proud, talkative, and Al-Mutafaihiqun.” The people with him asked, “O Messenger of Allah! We know the arrogant and talkative people, but we don’t know who Al-Mutafaihiqun are.” He answered, “The prideful people.”

Find out what people think about you.

When did you last ask your spouse, child, parents, or friends if they had any problems with how you act? This is something that many of us don’t like to do. We’re afraid to ask for feedback on how we act because we don’t want to see that we’re not perfect. We don’t always see our flaws, and we may get angry or upset when someone tries to point them out to us.

If someone says something wrong about you, it might not be too hard to take, but it will give you a chance to think about yourself and decide if you need to change anything. They are honest about how they see you, it’s good for you because you can change and get better at being a Muslim. If you think their opinion of you is wrong, you might need to talk to them about why you do what you do.

Another good thing about asking for feedback is that it makes it easier for you to talk to others.

Instead of keeping bad feelings inside until they explode, everyone will have emotionally healthy relationships where they can tell you when you hurt them or act in a way that goes against Islam.

If we want to be the “perfect” Muslim, we might dream of being able to memorize the Qur’an. We might wish we had millions of dollars so we could end world hunger or buy the best gifts for the people we love. But sometimes, what brings us closer to being this “perfect” Muslim is changing how we act.

How to Stop Looking at What Other People Have

Many of us don’t set out to think about what Allah (SWT) has given other people because we already know that a Muslim shouldn’t be jealous of what Allah (SWT) has given others. But sometimes, Satan rears his head and whispers thoughts into our minds that make us wish we had what someone else has.

Do you know what you do when you have felt like the ones I just talked about? They make us not see Allah (SWT) ‘s good deeds for us. They make us forget all the good things God has given us and want things He hasn’t done for us yet. So, yes, your friend has two kids, and you don’t. But what about how He has kept you healthy? Or the millions of harms you can’t see that He keeps you safe from? What about being a Muslim being a blessing? To worship Him and be able to read the Qur’an?

If we wanted to count all of the good things that Allah (SWT) has done for us, we would never be able to finish.

So, when you find yourself wishing you had what someone else has, keep these things in mind:

Islam is the best thing you could have.

We are happy enough that Allah (SWT) made us Muslims. We are happy that He has led us in the right direction. No matter what a person has in this life, nothing will help them in the next life if they don’t have faith.

Abu Hurrah said that the Prophet of Allah said, “When Allah wants something good for a person, He makes him understand religion.”

Two Rakat before Fajr Salah

Aisha said that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “The two Rakat before Fajr are better than this world and everything in it.”

That means these two Rakat are better than anything the wealthiest man in the world has, better than the most exotic vacation islands, and better than your dream car or house.

Every time you wake up early to do these Rakat, remind yourself that if Allah wills it, these Rakat are a blessing and better for you than all the worldly things you want.

Everyone has their good fortune.

In the world we live in now, blessings are mostly things we can see. It is sometimes defined by things people think of as progress in their lives, like getting a new car, getting a better job, moving to a more excellent neighborhood, having a child, etc. We sometimes forget that Allah (SWT) chooses different things to bless us.

You may not have the same things as your siblings, but that doesn’t mean you aren’t lucky. You should look at your life and see what blessings Allah (SWT) has put for you.

Try to be happy and thankful.

There will always be things that are better than what you have. Even if you have all the money in the world, someone else has something you don’t. If we always wanted more, we would never be able to appreciate what we already have.

A happy person is grateful for the things and people in their life. It doesn’t mean you’re lazy or mediocre when you’re happy with how things are. It means that as you try to live better, you know that whatever you have now comes from Allah (SWT), so you don’t feel threatened by what someone else has.

In many verses of surat ul Rahman, Allah (SWT) keeps asking us, “Which of your Lord’s gifts would you turn down?” He tells us about the things He made, how the earth was made for us, etc. These things should remind us of the many blessings we don’t pay enough attention to.

The Strength of Dua

Don’t be someone who wants something without making dua. If you see a good thing and want it, pray for it. Allah loves it when we ask Him for things.
