Method 1: Deleting the content of the Entitlement Client Folder

  • Open your system file explorer by pressing the Windows key + E
  • Go to C:\Program Data\Intuit\Entitlement Client\v8

  • Select all the files present in the folder by pressing Ctrl + a keys on your keyboard
  • Press the Del key on your keyboard and click Yes for confirmation.

M 2: Change the name of the WS Activity File

  • Open your system file explorer by pressing the Windows key + E keys.
  • Open the location C:\Program Data\Intuit\QuickBooks Point of Sale XX\Ini in the explorer.
  • Locate WSActivity in it and then rename it by Right-clicking on it.
  • Once you have changed the name, hit enter or click anywhere on the screen.
  • After completion, close the windows. Now you have to delete all the content of the Entitlement Client Folder.
  • For that process, follow method -1 for it.
  • Launch the Point-of-sale application again.

Method 3: Reinstalling the QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale

We will first uninstall the program. You can do that by:

  • Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard to open the Run program.
  • Enter Control Panel in the dialogue box and hit enter key.
  • Click on the program and feature options in the control panel.
  • Locate and select QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale 18.0 among the lists. Then click on the Uninstall/Change button.

  • Follow the steps that appear on the screen and uninstall the program.

Once the uninstallation is over, head to the Point of the Sales data folder, copy it and then paste it onto your desktop to ensure that you have a backup in case of any failure. Rename the folder so that during the fresh installation, the POS application won’t install on this same folder and create will create a new one. Now all that’s left is to delete the QBPOSDBSrvUSER user. For that, follow the below steps:

  • Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard to open the Run program, type the control panel, and hit enter.
  • Go to User Accounts and in that click on Manage another account.
  • Click the continue option when prompted
  • Select the QBPOSDBSrvUser and click on the Delete account option
  • Once over, reboot the system

After that reinstall the QuickBooks Point of Sale should fix the error.
