The Ladder League in Diablo 2 Resurrected has begun, and with it comes several levels in 85 areas. We can get the best gear in these advanced areas. These new regions were introduced in patch 2.4, which was released two weeks ago.
These premium areas are very important if you want to be the strongest player on the ladder. Advanced gear acquired in these places can help us become very powerful.
What are the advantages of level 85 areas in Diablo 2 Resurrected?
All items in the game can drop in these level 85 areas, including the best premium items. These powerful d2r ladder items can only be obtained in level 85 areas, so we must enter these areas.
These areas have strong monsters that would turn your corpse into a pie, but the rewards are huge. Just one high-end item can make you rich at the beginning of the life ladder.
Level 85 areas in Diablo II have been around for decades, and while they are popular with players, they have become stale for many players. They also force many players to choose the template structure that provides the correct damage type against monster resistance in these areas.
New areas introduced in Diablo 2 Resurrected 2.4 patch
Patch 2.4 of Diablo 2 Resurrected changes all that, introducing 16 new level 85 areas for you to farm. These areas are spread across the game’s five Acts and have different types of monster immunity. This expands the building options that can effectively create the final content of Diablo 2, and allows players to see some completely new content.
These areas also contain a sparkling chest in the procedurally generated map. If the area has multiple layers, it is usually in the deepest part. Also, note that you will occasionally encounter specific monsters in these areas that are immune to your damage type.
Ignore them, or have your mercenaries kill them and move on. In Diablo 2 Resurrected, speed is the key to magic discovery, so don’t waste too much time trying to kill an enemy or two.
Adding Infinity runeword to your setup will completely change everything, allowing you to grow more areas. This guide focuses primarily on pre-Infinity farms. And this is where most players will invest the most time. Remember, the usual magic discovery rules still apply in these areas. A higher magic discovery percentage will result in better drops for your character.
Level 85 farming areas for cold damage
Blizzard Sorceress has long been a favorite of magic finders in Diablo II. Even the changes to Hydra this season will undoubtedly have a ton of cold damage thrown out.
While the ancient tunnels of the Lost City in Act 2 and the tomb in the Graveyard in Act 1 are still the preferred locations for any cold-damaged building. But there are six new places for your character to deal with cold damage. I’ve included them in the chart below alongside level 85 zones that have always been great for planting cold damage.
Level 85 farming areas for lightning damage
Amazons and Assassins will likely benefit the most from these areas. Before patch 2.4, trying to farm with lightning damage was difficult without the Infinity runeword.
Level 85 farming areas for fire damage
With the notable changes to mage and druid fire skills, there will no question be a lot of people looking for good places for fire damage. Before patch 2.4, this was a hard selling point, as there was only one place where fire damage could have effectively. Now see where you should plant fire damage, as the patch has added new areas.
Level 85 farming areas for magic damage
The most famous magic damage dealer in Diablo II is Hammerdin Paladin. Magic damage is already a very effective way to farm Chaos Sanctuary and the Pit, and there are now even more places for players to have fun while hunting for the ultimate gear. As you can see, there are still plenty of areas to farm if you’re dealing with magic damage.
Level 85 farming areas for poison damage
Watching enemies go down after you’ve run is a way of playing. If you’re a Necromancer, having the ability to cast a low resistance curse can also break an enemy’s poison immunity.
What about physical damage?
Dealing with physical damage in Diablo 2 Resurrected is far less of a magic damage type. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. If your character can deal pure physical damage, you should be able to run most areas of level 85 in the game. There will be some monsters with immunity, but feel free to jump over them and keep going to prevent too many slows.
Go home.
